Caught Between Worlds
All Powers have a Boon which they can bestow upon those that please them. The Boon is temporary, but still takes an element of the Power’s magic, so it is rarely given freely. Most Powers will either use it as reward, bargaining chip, or in exchange for something or some action which advances one or more of their Attributes.
Boons last a year and a day or until fully exercised. A weaker Boon may have several activations before it is used up, a powerful Boon only one. Powers must give out Boons personally, by physical contact, and Boons are always related to one or more of the Power’s Attributes.
An Example: Barnatum, Power of Novelty and The New, will trade his Boon in exchange for a truly novel or unique memory. The individual will find it unravel in their minds, but they’ll gain his Boon: Beginner’s Luck. Usable 3 times, they can gain a +4 Luck bonus on any skill check, attack roll, or saving throw, provided it’s in response to a situation they’ve never been in, against an enemy they’ve never fought, or a spell or effect they’ve never before experienced.
